Position Summary
The Security Engineer provides technical support for hardware and software elements and processes of the security program. Principally responsible for designing, managing, maintaining and implementing Dynaxys security infrastructure and general support of other security tools, policy and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
Systems Administration & Infrastructure:
- Implements recommended changes to address problems that are moderately complex in nature (i.e. departmental firewall/network changes).
- Develops or aids in the development of security architecture, systems, programs and improvements
- Assists with information security and network related issues
- Participates in large projects and /or complex network and security changes through implementation of assigned tasks.
- Monitors network security systems for anomalies and/or activity that are suspicious in nature.
- Conducts regular threat hunting and simulation activities
- Aids with incident response activities
- Assists with vulnerability assessments on mission-critical resources
- Identifies and administers ongoing system changes and life cycle management for assigned security systems
- Develop associated technical documentation
- Participates in on call support rotation. Will be required to work off hours as needed in support of changes of the environment as well as on-call responsibilities
- Assist in evaluating, planning, and preparing for cloud migration.
- Automate repetitive system administration tasks to improve reliability and efficiency
- Other duties as assigned
Security & Compliance:
- Maintain compliance with federal security regulations and industry best practices.
- Ensure system availability, security, and performance.
- Work closely with operations teams to ensure server hardening, logging, and access control policies.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- 4+ years’ experience working in Network, application and Information Security.
- Strong understanding of NIST 800-53 security controls.
- O365 Suite Security Experience
- Proficiency in Network / Firewall management / SASE
- Basic Windows and Linux administration capabilities.
- Basic computer networking skills.
- Experience managing authentication systems
- Ability to implement and design technical security controls.
- Knowledge of pen testing physical and computer systems
- Familiarity with the MITRE ATT&CK framework or similar.
- Proven technical skills and demonstrated troubleshooting skills.
- Securing AWS and Azure workloads with associated toolsets
- Understanding of SAST/DAST testing
- Understanding of AI workloads and general protections for them
- Demonstrated ability to work in team environment
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- The person in this position frequently communicates with clients, administrators and staff that have questions or need information. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, and operating and maintenance instructions
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve computer errors or problems
Education & Clearance Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Professional experience in lieu of education accepted.
- US Citizen (due to federal contract requirements).
- Be able to successfully clear the PIV process.
- GIAC, CISSP, and AWS Certified Security – Specialty certifications are desirable.
Physical Demands
- Ability to sit for extended periods at a desk, conference table, or in meeting rooms.
- Ability to stand for extended periods while operating computers, printers, and other networking equipment.
- Facility to occasionally move about inside the office to access computers, printers, office machinery, etc.
- Able to position self to maintain computers in the data center or networking rooms and closets, including under the desk.
- Ability to pull floor tiles and reach under raised floor tiles to perform cabling activities.
- Periodically lifts, carries, or otherwise moves and positions objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
