BOOST is partnering with our client to find a Chief Financial Officer.
Position Summary
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will report directly to the CEO, serving as the chief financial spokesperson of the organization. The CFO plans and analyses, directs, and controls all fiscal activities, develops budgets and forecasts, oversees financial audits, prepares financial reports, serves as a member of the executive team, and supervises accounting staff. The CFO will establish financial operating strategies and policies, maintain systems of internal controls, serve as the financial expert with the Senior Management Team, serve as the investment manager, and be responsible for all fiscal reporting activities. Assures the organization is fiscally responsible and moving in a direction to maximize growth and profit margins. The CFO will be consistently mindful of meeting the goals of key stakeholders such as company ownership and clients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership
Provide the CEO and Senior Leadership team with regular financial updates, offering strategic recommendations to enhance organizational growth and profitability.
Regularly review business plan financials against actual performance to identify growth opportunities and adjust strategies accordingly.
Craft a compelling business plan and presentation to secure funding, focusing on effectively communicating the business's value proposition and financial needs.
Compliance and Federal Contracting
Respond to federal pricing bids, ensuring adherence to compliance guidelines and maintaining accurate records.
Track financial activity and consult on compliance with contract goals.
Uphold strict compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards.
Financial Operations and Oversight
Perform monthly financial reviews to evaluate the organization's profitability and operational margins.
Review and audit bookkeeping systems, ensuring accurate tracking of receivables and effective payment collection processes.
Oversee payroll systems to identify and correct errors, implementing recommendations for improved accuracy.
Supervise the work of internal and external accountants, bookkeepers, and payroll staff, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Collaborate with accountants to analyze financial activities and devise strategies for tax minimization and profit maximization.
Stakeholder and Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong client relationships to ensure satisfaction and loyalty.
Establish and maintain strong banking relationships, ensuring streamlined wealth management and strategic cash solutions.
Manage relationships with funding sources to secure the necessary capital for operations and growth.
Contract Negotiation and Pricing
Engage in contract pricing negotiations and management, contributing to favorable financial agreements.
Continuous Improvement and Systems Management
Remain current with financial management systems and recommend updates as needed.
Respond to federal pricing bids, ensuring adherence to compliance guidelines and record-keeping standards.
Perform monthly financial reviews to evaluate the organization's profitability and operational margins.
Review and audit bookkeeping system including tracking receivables and assuring system is in place to procure outstanding payments due.
Audit the bookkeeping system, ensuring accurate tracking of receivables and the implementation of effective payment collection processes.
Review and audit payroll systems to include identifying errors and make recommendations for systems in order to track and correct errors.
Collaborate with accountants to analyze financial activities and devise strategies for tax minimization and profit maximization.
Engage in contract pricing negotiations and management, contributing to favorable financial agreements.

Education And/or Work Experience Requirements
Bachelors degree in accounting or finance required; C.P.A. is preferred, and an M.B.A. is desirable.
Minimum of 20 years of experience is needed in progressive financial leadership roles, experience in federal accounting, government reporting, and grants/contracts management is essential.
Desired candidate will have outstanding financial analytical skills, experience supervising key financial areas, and ability to communicate orally.
Experience in accounting software, spreadsheets and database applications is needed.
Minimum 10 years of Federal or Government contract experience required.
Clear communicator to assure team understands goals and projected outcomes.
Strong management skills and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to be responsive and timely and work within tight deadlines.
Advanced knowledge in MS Office, ERP, CRM, HRIS and billing systems.
