BOOST is partnering with a cleared small business that provides mission-critical, AI-driven cyber defense and reverse engineering solutions for U.S. Government clients to hire an AI Augmented Network Operator SME. This opportunity is 100% onsite located in the Northern Virginia area.
Position Summary:
As a Software Developer, you will design, build, and maintain secure, scalable, and highly performant automation services and tools to power next-generation AI-enabled cyber operations. You will embed DevSecOps best practices into every stage of the software lifecycle, collaborating closely with data science, threat-hunt, and reverse-engineering teams in a fast-paced classified environment.
We are seeking candidates with a range of skills and experience levels, as outlined below:
- Full Performance: High school diploma or GED, applicable training, and at least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Senior: High school diploma or GED, applicable training, and at least 8 years of relevant experience.
- Subject Matter Expert (SME): High school diploma or GED, applicable training, and at least 10 years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities:
- Architect and implement microservices in Python or Java, designing robust RESTful and GraphQL APIs, and lightweight but secure UI components.
- Build secure, scalable tools in collaboration with the AI team to directly support mission analysts and cyber operators.
- Automate CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI or GitHub Actions, integrating static and dynamic code analysis, container security scanning, and automated test frameworks.
- Implement infrastructure-as-code using Terraform and Ansible to deploy applications on Kubernetes clusters hosted within accredited secure cloud environments.
- Optimize performance for latency-sensitive workloads, writing unit, integration, and system tests to maintain high code quality and mission resiliency.
- Harden applications against adversary exploitation by applying modern secure-coding standards, secure authentication/authorization practices, and robust encryption protocols.
- Integrate data streaming telemetry and endpoint event sources in close partnership with Cyber SMEs, ensuring seamless mission-relevant data flows.
- Conduct code reviews, maintain technical documentation, and mentor junior developers to grow the next generation of secure software engineers.
- Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to translate operational mission needs into highly reliable, secure, and scalable software solutions.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven commitment to “mission-first, people-always" values with zero tolerance for mission failure.
- Five plus (5+) years of software engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in Python plus at least one compiled systems language (e.g., Go, Rust, C++).
- Hands-on expertise with Docker containers and Kubernetes orchestration at scale.
- Proven experience building CI/CD automation pipelines and secure version-control workflows using Git.
- Strong grasp of secure coding principles, including secure authentication, authorization, cryptography, and data protection patterns.
- Exceptional ability to explain complex technical concepts to multidisciplinary teams supporting critical mission outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- PMP, PgMP, DAWIA/FAC-P/PM Level III, or equivalent advanced program management certification.
- Prior senior officer (Lieutenant Colonel or above), GS-15+, or equivalent leadership experience overseeing complex, high-consequence mission programs.
- Experience scaling small-business programs under IDIQ, SBIR, 8(a), or other federal contracting frameworks.
- Familiarity with corporate surge scaling, enterprise-level strategic planning, and growth-focused leadership.
Clearance Requirement:
- Must be willing to obtain a TS/SCI with polygraph.
Salary Range:
- $150K-$260K (Compensation is commensurate with experience and aligned with the Full Performance, Senior, and SME levels outlined above in the Position Summary.)
